&lt;p&gt;Raleigh, NC — 3/23/2012&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;IT WAS COLD. It was really cold this morning, but I still had a really great time. It didn’t feel like a 5k race to me. The obstacles were a lot of fun—some a little more frightening than others, but I successfully made it through all of them.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2 of the mud pits were frozen this morning… so they had to dry them up so we wouldn’t get hypothermia and DIE. Had it been warmer, it would have been far, far muddier.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Regardless of the not so great weather, I had a great time.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Can’t wait to do another mud run. What did I make today, you ask?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Homemade Frappuccino&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I love coffee… like, I really love coffee. And not only is this treat homemade, but it’s low fat and absolutely delicious. Here’s how I made it:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In a blender:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;1/2 cup of cold, brewed coffee&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;1/2 cup of fat free milk&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;2 tablespoons of sugar free, non-dairy french vanilla coffee creamer (you could easily substitute in vanilla protein powder if you wanted to)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;3 packets of Splenda&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A handful of ice cubes&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;Blend it up until it’s smooth and voila.&lt;/p&gt;

Sometimes I just throw some things into a blender until it tastes good.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Here’s something I whipped up last week:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In a blender, put in about a cup of diet ginger ale, a handful of frozen strawberries, and a handful of ice.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Blend.&lt;br/&gt;
Pour.&lt;br/&gt;

&lt;p&gt;But I always convinced myself that it wouldn’t give me as good of a workout as if I went, say, running, or to the gym.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;No, Grace. You were wrong.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Today is kind of gloomy outside, so I wasn’t going to go run, and I didn’t feel like going to the gym. But I also didn’t want to do nothing. Dilemma.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So I decided to try this workout, finally.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I did 4 reps of this, a total of 40 minutes, which is more or less the amount of cardio I would have done at the gym, and I can say that I sweated just as much doing this than if I had just gone for a run. Not only that, but I did ab things and arm things that I wouldn’t do at the gym because by the time I tell myself to go to some strength, I’m too tired, so I leave.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I just never feel like I can get as good of a workout at home as I can running 3 miles or doing cardio at the gym. I know I can, it’s just a tough mental spot I’ve placed myself in.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Anyways—I recommend this workout. It will only work, though, if you do each minute as hard as you can. Don’t cheat yourself.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;You’ll feel good when you’re done. &lt;p&gt;The main thing I leaned is that I’m afraid of the ball. So if there’s one thing I want to personally improve on over the next 7 weeks, it’s that I want to not be afraid to get into the game.&lt;/p&gt;
